SUNDAY CHURCH SERVICE

9:30am each Sunday; with communion on the first Sunday of each month followed by lunch at a local venue chosen on the day. All welcome.

BIBLE STUDY

OVER 50s EXERCISE CLASS

Melinda runs exercise classes for seniors from 10:30-11:30am.

TAI CHI

Maz from the Australian Academy of Tai Chi runs classes at the Cessnock Church Hall, from 12:30-2pm, for people of all ability levels.

BALLET

Lisa from Technique Ballet Academy teaches ballet and dance from 4-6pm.

AFTERNOON FELLOWSHIP GROUP

 A women's friendship group meets once a month from 2pm at the church. New members welcome! 

 

TUESDAY

BELLBIRD CUBBYCLUB 2

Our playgroup, CubbyClub 2, will restart on Tuesday July 25, 2024, from 10am - 12noon, at the Bellbird church hall and yard. We welcome all families with children from birth to 5 years, regardless of belief (or lack of it!). contact Anne: 0439907211, annesinternet@gmail.com 

HUNTER FOOD RELIEF

This charity uses our kitchen and hall (from 9am - 1pm) to provide lunch and take-away meals and other assistance to anyone needing help. Members of our congregation and other community members volunteer to help out. Contact Matt: 0431582567.

ART/CRAFT GROUP

Formerly known as 'School for Adults', this group has been running for over 40 years! There's a craft group for knitters, crocheters or embroiderers; and a painting group for those who like to splash paint around. New members welcome!

The Lions Club of Cessnock uses our kitchen to provide a free lunch for anyone in need. Congregation members volunteer to help too. Contact 

SOUL PURPOSE

This is a women's friendship group, meeting at members' homes from 2pm. Originally started as a singing group, they have now diversified into church service leadership from time to time. Devotions and discussions and afternoon tea! New members are always welcome! Contact Anne : 0439907211

 

SATURDAY

 

MESSY CHURCH

A fun, family focussed messy church will start at the Bellbird church and hall in September. There will be craft activities and games followed by a short, contemporary church service around the theme of creation. Each month the games and worship will centre on a new topic. And there's a great feast to end our time together! This is a family event so all kids need their adult to attend too. Everyone welcome!

FREE CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH

Cessnock Catholic Church and our Uniting Church join together to offer a free Christmas Lunch to anyone in the local community needing company on Christmas Day. Congregation and community members volunteer to help out. Contact Cheryl: 0419991579.

CAROLS IN THE BUSH

Christmas Carols for the congregation and local community held just before Christmas, at a member's property out of town. Contact Anne: 0439907211.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL

Community-group members and businesses are invited to decorate trees in the church and raise money for their nominated charity. The congregation and public are invited to 'vote' for their favourite trees with a gold coin. All money raised goes to the charities.

This year's event will commence with tree decorating on Wednesday, 15/12/24, commencing at 5pm. Our local 'Undeniably Noisy Choir' will entertain! Party food will be served and Santa just might even attend.....

SENIORS' SHOWCASE

 The first one was held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Cessnock Church in Cooper Street. This event showcased a variety of services and activities available locally for seniors, including: Rotary, Lions and Probus club; Men's and Women's sheds; wood turners; ukulele group; Cessnock Library; Service NSW; care providers; tai chi; massage; masters swimming; over 55's living; computer info; state and federal member representatives and even more!

It was a great success, with the opening being performed by local member, Mr Clayton Barr, and attendance by many, many local seniors.

Our 2nd annual Seniors' Showcase event will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, from 1-4pm. Cessnock Rotary will cook their famous sausage sizzle bbq; Cessnock Lions will serve refreshments in the kitchen; the seniors' choir, line dancers and the ukulele groups will perform AND there'll be a mini fashion parade from the Salvos store Cessnock! as well as all this, there will be some informative talks about health, finances, retirements and services from all levels of government.
