sing! sing! sing!

Our annual Carols in the Bush was held, last year, on Tuesday December 19 at Hebburn Motor Sport Park. This is a property owned by a congregation member and located just 15 minutes from the Cessnock church. But it is definitely in the bush!

There was plenty of parking on site.

Music and entertainment included: singer/songwriter/guitarist Lothar Nowak, Laura Johnson, Jesse Allen-Berry, Golden Guitar winner Karen O'Shea, Julie Archbold, Joel Porter and Aaron Taylor. The children of Hebburn MotorSport Club performed a beautiful and spirited Nativity play while Cessnock Rotary manned their BBQ van and Hebburn Motorsport Park people sold drinks. There was also a visit from Santa who gave out lolly bags and stayed for photos!

Unfortunately, the weather was not very co-operative :( ... There were extremely high temperatures and fires in the week before, followed by heavy rain and the threat of floods just before. then on the day, which started out looking beautiful, a sudden, huge and very short-lived strong wind blew gazebos and decorations away. Hence many people took the cautious decision to stay away. We certainly can't blame them! But those who did come had a fun night, which ended just before the rain stated! Again!

Over 200 people enjoyed a fun filled evening of Christmas celebrations.
